Yule Survive

I was dumped before Thanksgiving and the sadness is following me right to Christmas. It wasn’t a good relationship and I had been thinking of ending but he beat me to it. I still can’t shake the sad.

It takes time to shake the sad because the only way to survive any breakup is to feel it, process it and learn from it. You’re still in that mode, and the good news is that you’ll come out on the other side WAY better than you were. Enjoying the holidays doesn’t take away from that process and I highly suggest you do exactly that! The holidays bring about damn good distractions and damn good reasons to treat yourself well. Treat yourself to enjoying a few festive gatherings and partake in a little BYOS (Be Your Own Santa), splurging on a new “toy” or an outfit or a spa day. Making the decision to enjoy the season as you discover your new single self makes for cool yule!

I started dating someone five months ago and I really like where it’s going. The problem is that we both already made travel plans for the holidays and we can’t spend them together. I’m totally bummed.

Yes, it’s a bummer but it’s not the end of the world. You can text, call and share the adventures you’re having. The spirit of the season isn’t limited to a day or eight- share the holiday magic when you’re together.

What’s the best gift to give to a boyfriend who has everything?

The gift of your heart, of course! If you’ve already given that, try sharing an experience with him that neither of you have tried. Skydiving? Cooking class? The possibilities are endless!
