I’m on two online dating sites and in the last month my profile is getting little to no attention. In addition, I feel like the dates I’ve had recently have been a total bust. What could I be doing wrong? I’m ready to throw in the towel on this dating thing.

Dating can be frustrating and it sounds like you’ve simply hit a dating slump. It happens to all of us and you’ll snap out of it- I promise. There are a few things you can do to “de-slump” and the great news is that now is the perfect time to do it.

July 1st marks the halfway point of the year and a perfect time to re-evaluate your 2019 trajectory in all facets of your life, including your efforts in the dating scene. If you’re not where you want to be, then now is the time to make a few tweaks to your game plan. When it comes to dating, here are a few things you can think about trying:

Take a look at how you’re sourcing your dates and determine if there are other avenues you can take to meet eligible people. Don’t limit yourself to just online; get out, get busy and get to meeting new people in person.
If your profile has been active for more than 90 days, it’s time to shake it up with new pictures and improved copy that paints a great picture of who you are and why YOU are a great option as a potential date.

Another thing you can try is to take a breather from online dating and apps and replace it with an activity that’s all about you, your happiness and your growth. Consider taking a class or perhaps try a new workout… or even a vacation or a home improvement project. Putting a little more focus on you will feel great and the people you want to attract will notice those changes in you… and like it!

Dating can definitely lead to disappointments, but try to find a little humor and a little lesson in each bad date. Keeping your eye on the prize is greater than giving up… you’ve got this!
