Just Ask
I recently had a couple really good first dates and nothing ever seems to come of it. My dates seem to like me and they say that they’d like to see me again, but I hear nothing back from them. What am I doing wrong?
It’s not that you’re doing something wrong… maybe it’s what you’re not doing. Are you waiting for them to ask for the second date? If you really want to see them again, then you should do the asking. There’s nothing wrong with a “Hey- I was thinking about going to a wine tasting… want to come?” or “I’ve got an extra ticket to this show and I was thinking of you- want to come?”. Don’t be afraid of asking- taking a risk is way more unsettling than not knowing. Regardless of their answer, you now have the green light to pursue either them or someone new.
It’s a new year and I’m still single. I’m thinking of giving online dating another try. Can you give me any suggestions to make this successful?
The best thing to remember about online dating is that it’s just one tool to source dates. It’s not the only tool in the shed and when it comes to dating you should use ALL the tools. Create a stellar profile that really gives a great snapshot about you. Great pictures, fun and flirty copy and keeping it about your great qualities and not what qualities you want in a date is key. Once your profile is up, have fun checking out others and let the communication begin! But the fun doesn’t stop there… maintain the mindset of putting yourself out there in real time. Go to parties. Go to places where other singles mingle. Be open to friends making introductions. In other words, to be successful use all the tools!
